Mount Shephard Retreat CenterMount Shepherd Retreat Center is a 542-acre United Methodist facility located in the center of Randolph County and is an important part of the High Point District. Its mission is to build Christian commitment through camping and retreat ministries. The camp provides quality outdoor Christian education and warm Christian hospitality in a beautiful and quiet setting for people of all denominations. Children, youth and adults visit Mount Shepherd throughout the year. Mount Shepherd Retreat Center’s summer program attracts children and youth from around the region and across the state. Summer camps are offered in June and July for grades one through 12. Campers are led through day camps and overnight camp with activities which include horseback camps, golf camp, camps to the Appalachian Trail and to the Nantahala River, blobbing, canoeing, high ropes course, environmental education, camping and cooking out, crafts, games, pottery, and more. Mount Shepherd Retreat Center offers a year-round retreat program. There are several options available for group meetings, picnics, retreats and leisurely outings. Opportunities abound for study, fellowship, fun, reflection, and worship. Throughout the year groups and individuals come to enjoy the beauty and peace of Mount Shepherd Retreat Center.
