Welcome from the District Superintendent
Welcome to the new homepage for the High Point District of the United Methodist Church. This district of 21,000 United Methodists, serving in 78 congregations, is actively engaged in mission and ministry as we seek to embody the mission statement of our Annual Conference: “Follow Jesus. Make Disciples. Transform the World.”
Our hope, built on the grace of Christ, is to live as the people of God in such as way that we demonstrate what it means to love God and our neighbors in all that we do. We, like John Wesley, founder of Methodism, believe that “the world is our parish.” And in this day of multi-cultural communities and neighborhoods across our district, we have come to understand that the world is IN our parishes. Consequently, our vision is that from Jamestown to southern Randolph County, from small churches to large, from city and suburban areas to rolling farmland, every congregation will be in mission sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in word and action.
We invite you to be a part of this great movement of the Spirit. Come and worship with us at one of our churches found on this website. We pray that you will find us with “Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.”
